Crowds of angry Muslims around the world have stormed US Embassies to protest a low budget film made by an American that has insulting views to Prophet Muhammad. These protests have claimed a number of innocent lives. The question I have is DO WE NEED TO FIGHT FOR GOD?
I am not trying to sound insensitive but really? Why do we have to go to battle for the supreme being? The world is full of religons, Christianity, Jewish, Hinduism, Buddhism and there still those who worship on mountains and their ancestors graves. There is no way we all agree or have the same opinion about each others belief. All religions are just passed on to us from ancient beliefs we have no way to prove who is right who is wrong so why all the anger. Does the world know America is not all Christians? Is the opinion of one American count as the opinion of the country? Why do we need cast our ballots to pick the president then, we could just one American to choose who is the suitable man for the job and all agree with it.
It just amazes me why we think we have the right to take ones life to defend a religion, who gives you the power?. If you believe in God as a supreme being who punishes evil and reward good why don't we let God take care of the people we deem evil? How can ones stand up to promote Islam as the religion of peace if Muslims in Pakistan kill Christians for blasphemy? Or storm the US embassy and kill the ambassador for something his country man did? Did anyone ask him for his opinion on it first?
As as I said above, I am not trying to sound insensitive to the Muslims believers but at the end of the day you are either peaceful or not. There is no in between. Destruction of property and murder does not make one considered peaceful,dangerous?....yes, peaceful?..no. I am pretty sure there hundreds of films out there that could be an insult to Christianity, a lot of teachings against African Traditionalists but what violence came from it?..none. Everyone is entitled for there opinion, every religion has some faults. We are just believers, its faith we can not prove anything. I see God everyday in every person I meet, and so I see the devil too. I don't know if my belief is the right one it was just passed down to me by my parents just like a billion other people.
Last year we witnessed the Arab spring, people went to the streets of Cairo, Benghazi, Sanaa, and Tunis to demand for democracy and freedom. I wonder if they knew democracy also means tolerance to different opinions.Did They?.... It makes me wonder if Gaddafi was right when he said "Arabs don't know what democracy is". I was happy to finally see North Africa getting the freedom they were demanding. But these recent events makes me happier to live in the country where the freedom of speech is respected. I am happy to live in the Greatest Nation on Earth.
